Personal Physician Care has a board-certified pulmonologist on staff: Dr. Richard Seidelman, M.D. Dr. Seidelman has practiced pulmonary medicine in South Florida since 1989 — over 35 years of specialized lung care. He is one of the few pulmonologists in the region qualified to perform advanced interventional pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopic laser treatment of the airway, airway stent placement, thoracentesis, and Pleurx catheter insertion for recurrent pleural effusions.
Dr. Seidelman manages the full spectrum of pulmonary and respiratory disease including: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and emphysema, asthma and reactive airway disease, pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease, recurrent pneumonia and bronchitis, shortness of breath evaluation, lung nodule surveillance, pleural effusion management, sleep-related breathing disorders, pre-operative pulmonary assessment, and oxygen therapy management.
Most primary care practices refer COPD patients out — often with a weeks-long wait for an outside pulmonology appointment. At PPC, Dr. Seidelman is part of the practice. Your primary care provider and pulmonologist share your chart, communicate directly, and coordinate your inhaler regimen, lab work, and imaging without the delays of an external referral system. In-house spirometry and chest imaging support faster diagnosis and tighter management of respiratory conditions.
COPD rarely exists in isolation — it frequently accompanies heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
